Perfect stay with a welcoming atmosphere
I spent 3 nights in a Double or Twin Room and was incredibly impressed. The hotel has a modern design with comfortable beds and excellent wifi. The breakfast spread was a delightful mix of local treats and freshly squeezed juices, making mornings something to look forward to. I also appreciated how attentive the staff were. the owner personally checked in with us during breakfast and was very informative about the local cuisine. However, I would have liked it if the hotel was a bit closer to the main attractions.

The spacious room was a perfect retreat for us as a family. It was clean and quiet, allowing us to relax after a full day of exploring. The nearby beach was amazing for watching sunsets, and the hotel's restaurant served some of the best food we've tasted in Cape Verde.
Nothing major to complain about.

The staff was very attentive and responsive to requests.
The temperature control in our room was impossible to manage. Despite our attempts to adjust the AC, it left us feeling either too cold or sweltering hot. Additionally, the hotel's sustainability practices felt inconsistent. towels were swapped out every day, even though we didn't request it.

The room was spacious and well-appointed, perfect for unwinding. I also appreciated the cleanliness throughout the hotel, making for a comfortable stay. Julia Maria’s culinary skills were a highlight, offering delicious meals that enhanced our overall experience.
The only downside was the lack of a walking path to the town, which made it feel isolated at times.

huge glass front, comfortable beds, great bathroom
A European style hotel seems misplaced here!!! The sauna-like heat from the sun streaming through the glass front made the AC run constantly, leading to an uncomfortable chill!!!

I had a delightful stay at Chez Maria Julia! The location felt safe and relaxing, with vibrant surroundings and easy access to the beach. Maria herself is a fantastic host, checking in on my well-being. Minor wait times for staff arose, but they were always helpful when needed.
